Just to make this clear...

I don't give a flying monkey's butt how long you gamed or that you only use the "Original" books. I have four kids I want to share the hobby with and me supporting the OSR and the Retro-Clones is the best way to make sure my kids play and hopefully one day their kids play Old School.

When your "near-Mint" copies of 1e AD&D lay in some garage or end up in a landfill 'cause your such a fraking elitist that when you die nobody gives a rip about you, my kids will still be Old Schooling games.

Fact is that "Original" copy won't last forever, and regardless about how you hate the "Crappy" reprints, they are going to last longer than those "Originals". And when your precious "Originals" become too "Original" to even use at the table don't come crying to me.

And by the way you Elitist pricks I own the "Originals", and it don't make me anymore special than my 30+ years of gaming does, so crawl back into your Mom's basement close the door and let the real gamers spread the love.

Rant?

Yes, but I tired of all the Fraking hate. No More Edition Wars, No more Elitist B.S., play what you love and  and share the hobby.

ERIC!

  1. I guess they're too elitist to help fund a statue in honor of the guy who created the game that they're being elitist over. After all, wasn't that what the reprints were for?

I actually had a longer rant, but I'm going to save it for my own blog, Swords, Dragons, and Nerds[/shamelessplug]

  2. I agree with your sentiments in the above post. The same thing goes on in any scene where suddenly ideology becomes more important than actually DOING the thing we're involved in the scene to do.
