Enworld lost me when they jumped in the tank with 4e. Sure no more Edition wars here and what not, but I saw what a few bad apples did there, I blame Enworld for escalating the Edition Wars more than any other group excluding WotC themselves with their moronic "All other Editions Suck" crap, when they were pushing 4e down everyone's throats.
But were are we now? Has suckers looks like the OSR has won, 'cause it dwells here in the Bloggoverse! And now look at WotC throwing us bones left and right, scrabbling to try to reunite the base!
And Dragonfoot? The home of the Elites and the Uber-Fans? Maybe I have posted there once or twice, and found the community a little too neck bearded and elitist for me...I could care less, I hit Dragonsfoot every now and then to download something, overall I have no serious problem, although it seems a bit of jealousy is going on over us here in the Bloggoverse an then Forum Trolls.
But look, here we are and still we find stupid crap to argue about, ain't it great!

No not really though...I have a deep love for Greyhawk, I really do and I have been buying alot of the old stuff when I can find it cheap.
Look I will say it again, I blog 'cause I am the boss here. Nobody has the right to tell me what to post how to post, or if I am a "Sttooppiidd, Liberal hack, that can't pull his head out of a Trolls butt to see the light of Darwin's glorious Reason!", don't know where that came from, but it applies to the general attitudes on Forums, when you know, somebody is wrong.
It kills me that folks can honestly think or believe that ones "mind" can be changed on the interwebs, impossible.
Fact is I am the only one that is "right" because I am the only one accountable here. I don't have to change your minds, the readers of my blog, because you my dear Crusaders, have chosen to come here and read my drivel! And that is what is so great!
Sure I relish your wise input, FrDave more than most I would think, but others also! Ganth has been in some ways shaped by input here and there over the last 2 years of my blogs life. And I would say that's a good thing.
And it is easy for me to come to the blog and look up something I wrote months ago, when writing new stuff for Ganth, so the Blog format fits what I needed better than a Forum would.
My wife writes a Blog, she ain't no gamer, said with a southern drawl, but she loves her blog for many the same reasons I do, its a Scrapbook for here, a Journal, and a great way to look at where she came from!
I love my fellow bloggers, even some of the more odd nuts and bolts out there, I have drawn from their wisdom, and become a better gamer because of that. And like I have said, FrDave has a huge gaming influence for me, his stuff is brilliant, and he is a part of that which makes me want to be a better writer and gamer, but also a better Christian.
I like Tenkar, Bloch, the list literally is in the hundreds! Great men and women that are passionate about their hobby and are willing to share their thoughts with us, UNFILTERED!

So lets find a new argument, something that means more to gaming and less to the elitist hypocrites on the forums that rush out and buy up all the awesomeness the Bloggoverse has created....

I've found that those on forums who do the most complaining about blogs are the same ones who make the most noise on the forums, or at least are amongst the most intolerant of forum members. Since blogs have drawn away much of their audience their rantings are unsurprising indeed - pathetically predictable even. They're a minority, but they're the same minority that led to me, for sanity's sake, to forsake a couple of the main old school forums and throw myself into the much more satisfying blogosphere. I'm glad they're having their annual whinge, it's a good reminder to me why I no longer frequent their haunts and listen to their intolerant bullshit.
