The Black Watch

"No One Provokes Me With Impunity"

Late into the first decades of chaos that spread across the world after the Wormwood impact, members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland otherwise known as the Black Watch heroically stood against all odds, protecting the free citizens of Britannia from the ruthless would be warlords rising from the ruins of civilization.

These brave servants of the Crown, helped maintain a sense of honor and law in what was left of the British Empire.

For several Decades it would be members of the Black Watch that would protect the remnants of British Civilization, restore law to the wastelands of their once fertile homeland of Scotland and by the last few years of the 2nd Dark Ages, retire the Royal Family to its throne, during the five year campaign to retake London.

The Black watch also helped ease race relations with the growing Mutant population of the British Empire, by being open with its recruitment and protection of mutants of all kinds. Many a mutant raised through the ranks of the Black Watch, to include the noted British hero Colour Sergeant Marsh "Dog" Hicks, pictured to the left, who lead an attack that pushed Magog the Eater out of Edinburgh, after much of his Troop was killed in action.

The brave and honorable members of the Black Watch helped unify lost towns and cities, delivered messages and relief to distant lands, and would later, after the 2nd Dark Ages, march into Old Europe, to lead the charge against the vile New Reich.

First Lieutenant Crawl

First Lieutenant Lucy Crawl lead a small group of trained urban assault specialist into the ruins of Old Paris to set up a cordon that would help organize resistance to the occupying gangs and Cyber Sorcerers.

Along with here unit, several underground resistance groups successfully pushed out the New Reich backed Cyber Sorcerers and freed much of Old Paris from their tyranny.

She was killed in October of that year, fighting in single combat with the Cyber Sorcerer Tueur. Crawl's family was awarded lands and titles for her sacrifice years later after Roi Louis Bonner took the throne of France.

Much of Britain's technology was preserved and protected during the 2nd Dark Ages, from the Hover Assault Wings, to the caseless machine weapons, the British stockpile of weaponry was on hand for the Black Watch. 

Though some items of technology were lost, the Black Watch help protect much of Britain science and institutes of learning. This became very useful after the 2nd Dark Ages when new technologies finally began appearing from the hidden and protected labs of Wales.

Of all of the advances in technology used by the Black Watch, nothing compares to the Series One Field Combat Dress. This powered operation setup was designed not only to protect a soldier but enhance their combat effectiveness  It was during the Kasser Operation that members of the Black Watch utilizing the Series Ones were able to push back members of the New Reich's "Praetorian" out of occupied Metz in eastern France.

Later the Series One suits were again instrumental in the last days of the Fall of the New Reich when the Ape Mutant Fuhrer Menschenaffen was slain by members of the Black watch, finally freeing France from the vile New Reich.

Series One Field Combat Dress (Soft Cids)

Soft Cids, have surpassed the common "Advanced" armors utilized by pre-Wormwood Strike military units.  The Soft Cids have vastly reduced the power consumption  size and weight of older armors. 

It must be remebered that these suits are not EMAs. As such many of the features, like the Force Screen is not as powerful as the larger EMAs. The Soft Cid is not considered a "Powered" Armor.

Soft Cids have DNA recognition systems, each suit is permanently assigned to a soldier. DNA Locking a suit requires several skilled technicians and have complexity class of 3. 

Recharging Force Screens
The Recharging Force Screen is not as strong as most EMA force screens. After heavy sustained damage the force screen will power down, and allow the system to recharge to full strength.

Environmental Systems

Environmental air filtering, Environmental controls that can cool or warm the wearing reducing most extreme environmental conditions. Advanced radiation protection reducing most radiation effects by giving a +2 to radiation saves. Body waste recovery, supply drinkable liquid for up to 2 weeks before filters need to be replaced. Limited air recycling and carbon scrubbing, giving up to 2 hours of breathable air.

Advanced Visual Systems

Standard IR/UV and Thermal vision controls, Flash shielding that instantly protects the wearer from flashes of bright stunning light. Target identification and tracking for up to 30 separate hostile units. Weapon sight up-link and auto-correction, giving wearers altogether a +2 to targeting when using up-linked compatible weapons.

Satellite Uplink GPS/Vitals/Comms (SUG-V)

Late into the final months of the war to free France from the New Reich  the British Empire was able to launch several military satellites into orbit. Because of this many Soft Cids were upgraded with the SUG-V system. the SUG-V can display maps, locations and battle field reports to HQ. It can allow the Vital Doc to up link with un-hampered medical AI, that can preform more advanced medical procedures giving a +2 to death saves. And allows HQ to have a Soldiers eye view of the battle field situation.

Vital Doc

An advanced HAI (Hampered Artificial Intelligance) that can monitor, report and administer first aid to the wearer. This can heal a wearer of 1d8 points of damage, per hour when not in direct combat. It also gives a +1 save on Poison and Stun saves.

Kinetic Power Supply

Finally the Soft Cids have a Kinetic Power Supply system, that recharges the batteries of the system by the wearers own movement.

After 30 points have been absorbed the suit will recharge the screen in 1d4 rounds. 
Weight: 30lbs.
Power: Effectively Forever as long as the batteries are maintained.
