So Blood & Treasure was the flavor we used Friday night, backed up with a dose of OSRIC and of course AD&D 1e.
It was fun and something we had not done in a while. Blood & Treasure is a solid game, mixing in 3.0 DNA with a healthy amount of old school flesh and bones. Mr. Stater is a king at our table, and his games are always welcomed with smiles.
Friday kicked off a long desire for me to run a war campaign in Ganth. Orcs or as they are known on Ganth the Prynn have marched south into the Border Kingdoms to loot and pillage, but as to why now after so many years now one is sure. Everyone knows the Prynn follow only the strongest of leaders, so is this a threat from a new Warlord or just a minor invasion, simply to test the "softer" races as the Prynn call all that is not Orc.
Crossroads, the Players home city lays in ruins and if not for the brave efforts of said players, the Prynn may have caught the Dukes of the Border Kingdoms unaware. A force has been rallied to defend the Borders and pray that this is not what every man women and child thinks it may be, the spear tip of a massive Prynnish Horde.
And here we have what is left of Friday nights game, of course my cat Shelia insists on claiming the table after all is done.
The Big D6 is my dice container, acquired at our Hobby Lobby in Little Rock, Game Science dice are being claimed as toys by the cat, and folders lay about...
All in all game night was a blast, the group is happy and I am happy.
Hopefully this can continue, the campaign looks like it is heading in an exciting direction, and to be truthful I have one or two open seats for anyone in the area. Game nights may change as I have the prospect of getting a full time job soon and I'm excited about getting back into the work force.
