I keep seeing this doom and gloom crap, "Oh mister blog reader, did you know the OSR is dead!" and "Oh poor Mister Grognardia and his buddy Jeff don't blog, the end of the OSR is nigh!"
Rubbish...
Why? Because I am still blogging and so is hundreds of other little blogs just like mine, Hell's Brass Bells! Even New blogs are popping up!
And you know what else, +Google is jumping with Social Network OSR slap downs!
Yeah Tenkar's comments on his blog is like crickets but have you seen the rampant posting on his +Google page?
But I'm not done.
Did you know my kids play OSR games? That's right my two 8 year old kids, my 9 year old and my 13 year old all play OSR games....SHOCKING!
And guess what...I am not the only Dad out there showing their kids the greatest that is the OSR.

Completely agree. Just because a few are no longer blogging hardly means OSR is dead. Hell, we all managed to survive before anyone of us started blogging. I was still playing the old game and will probably continue after my blog goes to dust.

ReplyDeleteGood post. I don't exclusively game in the OSR but it is far from dead. There are new OSR enthusiasists coming as more people are introduced to the style. It is here to stay.
